Learning How Not to Stutter in the Movie "King's Speech"
The King's Speech is a film that "...depicts King George VI, father of England's Queen Elizabeth II, as a reluctant leader tortured by his stuttering. But with a sense of duty as England confronts a second world war, he musters the courage to seek speech therapy so he can address and calm an anxious nation".
"The focus on George's relationship with his eccentric speech therapist who insists on treating him as an equal makes the king a sort of everyman for people who stutter".
The above excerpts are from an article in TwinCities.com. The entire article discusses techniques used in the film and how adults and kids alike have related to King George IV and picked up tips from the movie! A fun movie with a hero Speech Therapist!

Physical Therapy and Spinal Cord Treatment
Very interesting article about Rob Summers, the first person ever to stand voluntarily after a spinal cord injury Medical News Today reports, "Summers does it with the help of a pacemaker-like device that sends a gentle electric current through 16 electrodes implanted in his spine. The device doesn't make his muscles move -- he does. This epidural stimulation excites the neurons in his spine, allowing them to receive and react to sensory information from his legs".
We are curious to learn more about his specific therapy rehabilitation and futher studies.

Low Level Laser Light Therapy Used By Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, and Athletic Trainers
"Multi Radiance Medical develops and manufactures the most advanced laser therapy equipment on the market. The company's MR4™ laser uses Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) to treat inflammation, provide deep tissue therapy and accelerate pain relief to help athletes minimize down time. It is the first laser therapy equipment to combine the entire therapeutic light spectrum into a single technology.
Used by athletic trainers, physicians and physical therapists working with professional, Olympic, college and high school athletes, the MR4 uses 25,000-50,000 mW of super pulsed laser power to accelerate drug-free pain relief. With its LaserStim™ and LaserShower emitters, the device helps identify tissue inflammation and treat large muscle groups quickly."
